Depiction of Romanian societies

He creates vivid depictions of the

Romanian society and its people.

Intrinsically, things have not changed

that much.

His work is reflective of the realities

of the Romanian society and its lifestyle.

The themes and subjects he has

chosen to illustrate in his work offer timeless examples for Romanians, thus contributing to the strengthening of the national identity.

He comes at a time where literary

canons needed to be established.

What makes him a great writer?

References

He was whistled at after the performance

of "A Stormy Night". His reviewers asked that the author of such a "dirty stupidity" be punished by the state officials.

In response, Titu Maiorescu, the leader of

the cultural society Junimea, writes the article "Mister Caragiale´s Comedies" ("Comediile d-lui Caragiale").
