Thank you!

TEAM

THE

  • a mechanical engineer, associate professor and head of department at a university in Budapest, FEA expert

SOLUTION

  • Tamás Jakus, professional designer (the actual design belongs to me yet, Tamás will dream a nicer packaging)

"there are two kinds of motorcycle riders: those who have already had an accident, and those who will have"

  • Attila Pechó professional motorcycle rider and mechanic
  • Tony Foale B.Tech, M.Eng.Sc, C.Dip.A.F. consultant

CUSTOMERS

THE

  • those, who are aware of the dangers of riding a motorcycle and are willing to choose life.

PROBLEM

The sPereBike

The world's #1 motorcycle with 5-Star safety rating

ADVANTAGES

  • "Each year more than 2,200 people are killed (2011: 4,323) and more than 55,000 (2011: 81,000) are injured in motorcycle crashes." - NHTSA
  • "Per vehicle mile traveled, motorcyclists' risk of a fatal crash is 35 times greater than a passenger car" - Wikipedia
  • "One of the main reasons motorcyclists are killed in crashes is because the motorcycle itself provides virtually no protection in a crash" - Wikipedia
  • Affordable base model ~13-15.000$
  • Provides 5-Star protection:
  • Long crumple zone in the front
  • Massive protective frame cage around you, you really sit inside, while still have the feeling of freedom
  • 5-point seat harness holds you tight
  • Airbag
  • ABS
  • It's simple - no complicated components or ideas, 99% the same as a motorcycle
  • above safety glasses, possibly really no need of additional protective gear
  • It's really cool...

INTRODUCTION

Choose life.

Hi, I'm László,

nice to meet you!

Have you also already suffered a serious motorcycle accident...?

Or one of your beloved ones...?

"COMPETITION"

I'm a creative guy who passionately loves to solve problems.

I'm here to show you that the sPereBike is the best, the only solution to the problem of motorcycle safety.

MARKET

There is no real competition at the moment, but once we finish, there will be very soon...

In 2013, consumers purchased: ~466,000 motorcycles in the US, and ~1 million in the EU.

If we can reach only 0,001% market share means we have sold ~1,500 sPBs, is ~$20-22 million turnover.

Can we win 1,500 customers...?

"The innovation point is the pivotal moment when talented and motivated people seek the opportunity to act on their ideas and dreams." - W. Arthur Porter

I've got 10+ years experience in sheet metal working from A to Z,

including building up and - for 2 years - managing a small sheet metal company with 20+ workers.

Similar products (some say)

MOST IMPRESSIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • By a sheet metal company where I was working all data regarding production existed on papers and that was inefficient, so I have suggested and developed a unique ERP software (100+ MySQL DB tables + PHP) and a lot of things became much easier

  • Based on Trixbox, Asterisk I have created a website where users can organize and play original role-playing games online

  • In high school (~'98) I have won a small prize - a headphones - on a Sony drawing competition about the "walkman of the future" and my concept looked something like the Google Glass

  • At the company where I was the managing director, I have found the proper way for the first try to properly weld a very important product - suggestions of owners 4x before have all failed

  • In July, 2008 I have posted my idea of "seat belt on a motorcycle", everybody told me I'm stupid, and in March, 2011 Honda has patented the same thing

The will win much-much more for us...

And the US and EU are car-dominated countries.

And what about other countries?

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP

  • will be very expensive: ~$24,000
  • only used available
  • looks awkward
  • only 125cc or 200cc engine
  • weight point too high
  • crumple zone in front too short
  • was very expensive
  • legs remain uncontrolled during a crash
  • only one rubber slider on each side

KEY PARTNERS

VALUE PROPOSITION

KEY RESOURCES

  • awkward
  • crazy expensive: $70,000
  • looks awkward
  • you sit too close to the front → too short crumple zone
  • too big, too long
  • Events/shows

"Classic"

BUSINESS MODEL

  • protective bar at the arms don't protect, you still remain in contact with the road during crash
  • your body is loosely tied to it, meaning it pulls you on the asphalt much longer than otherwise
  • closed chassis kills such concepts
  • too complicated components (gyroscope)
  • the whole idea is constrained

Dan Gurney's

ALLIGATOR

  • weird & complicated components
  • weird handling and driving, special education needed
  • you are not as free as on a motorcycle
  • looks awkward
  • weird ergonomics, sitting position not natural
  • no protection features
  • very expensive: $35,000
  • is it really a motorcycle? Where is the feeling of freedom?
  • the world's first and only 5-Star safety rating motorcycle!

Otherwise this is a good example that the low seat concept is basically working.

One more "possible" competitor...

  • Shareholders
  • Headhunters
  • Team members
  • Suppliers
  • Distributors/dealers
  • Press
  • NHTSA/Euro NCAP
  • Police

Producing for $X then sell for $X+Y%

Quasar

Some say, because these haven't become popular - what's absolutely no surprise - this proves that the concept of the sPereBike is also not viable.

From a very far distance they look somewhat similar to the sPereBike, but there was always something wrong with them or key features were missing from these concepts. Sometimes only a little bit was missing, but until now nobody has found the perfect way.

?!

  • where is the crumple zone?
  • what protects you? Your legs? Your arms?

The sPereBike is a simple and perfect product. Simply perfect.

  • how does it look like?
  • Capital

PRICING

Example

The sPereBike costs more, because it contains more, it gives you more - incomparable and unrivaled protection and comfort:

  • More frame
  • Airbag
  • Sport car seat with 5-point harness

The more components we produce ourselves:

  • the higher our investment, but
  • the lower our production costs will be, and
  • in long terms we earn more money

The less components we produce ourselves:

  • the lower our investment, but
  • the higher our production costs will be, and
  • we earn less money
  • Sales
  • License fees

Fixed Costs:

  • Equipment
  • Tooling
  • Building
  • Maintenance
  • Overhead
  • Patents

Variable Costs:

  • Materials
  • Labour
  • Energy
  • Crash tests:

$???

  • Marketing

(ˈsuːpəˌbaɪk)

The higher amounts we produce, the lower our costs are.

I'm expecting revenues to pour in after we've finished developing (takes a few thousand hours) and testing (takes a few months). Depending on how much the NHTSA/EuroNCAP crash testing will cost, all investments should be payed back in 2-3 years.

It must be the biggest investment.

For a single car, it can be up to $6,5m.

As the sPB is one-seater, and smaller, simpler, I'm expecting ~1/3-1/4 of the costs of a car, so maybe 1,5-2m maximum. I think there is much less data to deal with, less dummies to kill, but I'm waiting for a quotation from NHTSA/Euro NCAP for sure, but it's not easy because the whole concept is so new, nobody has ever inspected the safety of a motorcycle as if it would be a car and this is going to be the first time in history. The sPB is as much a motorcycle as possible, yet it creates a car-like situation in a crash.

What makes the sPereBike outstanding and unique? The frame. It should be produced on our own.
