Domain of Poseidon

Poseidon in the greek culture is considered to be the God of the sea and protector of aquatic features. Due to being overthrown by his father , he drew lots with the other Gods to became god of the sea.

Who is Poseidon related to?

Poseidon is the son of Cronus, his brothers' are Hades and Zeus. he was worshiped by sea men. He then married Amphitrite who is one of the granddaughters of Titan Oceanus.

One of the symbols related to Poseidon was the bull. In ancient Greece bulls were sacrificed as a present to Poseidon. Another symbol is the fish due to Poseidon having to do with fish. The last one is the horse because he considered to be the god of the horse.

Poseidon was able to manipulate water, storms, and lightning. He also was able to create strong waves and violent storms to those that angered him.

Weapon of Poseidon

Poseidon's weapon is a Trident which is like a big fork which he could make the earth shake and cause earthquakes and shatter any object he touches with it.

Personality of Poseidon

Myth

Poseidon personality trait clearly defined who he was as a god. He was known for his anger and wrath of violence. He sometimes was quiet and nice, but he could also be cruel and moody.

In the greek culture some believe that Poseidon had a daughter who fell in love with a human. She then made a wish to be a human, but she couldn't talk. She ended up falling in love, but her father took her back to the ocean.

Relation to Odysseus

He hates Odysseus because Odysseus hurt Polyphemous the Cyclops, Poseidon's son or at least one of his creations. Poseidon also supported the Trojans in the Trojan war Odysseus helped the Greek forces defeat the Trojans.Poseidon does a number of things to slow Odysseus down. He constantly gives them storms at sea. He also has a monster "Scylla" who kills six of his men. He punishes anybody that tries to help Odysseus by turning them into stone.
