The Roaring 20's

After the First World War, the United States entered a decade of relative prosperity.

Financial SPECULATION drove the stock market, creating tremendous wealth for a few. The wealthy of the period built large houses and spent lavishly on bootleg alcohol.

The era is remembered for the creation of jazz music, famous mobsters, and "speakeasys."

Examine the key

Millions would MIGRATE

A combination of overcropping and unsustainable farming techniques destroyed millions of farms.

The most serious droughts occured here, in the "Dust Bowl."

The Gross Domestic Product was an economic measure developed during the Great Depression, to track the nation's recovery.

Gross domestic product (GDP) is the monetary value of all the finished goods and services produced within a country's borders in a specific time period.
