There were main rulers Sultan Sunni Ali and Askia Muhammad. Askia Muhammad was the greatest ruler of Songhai. He built schools in Jenne, Timbuktu and Gao. He also expanded the Songhai empire a lot more than previous leaders thought possible
The african soldiers were scared of their guns and how their comrades were dieing mysteriously. Judar Pasha invaded Songhai with his guns and took many riches. With everything weakened Songhai's government fell and with them all their riches dissapeared.
