Carol Gilligan

-Studied psychology, ending with a Ph.D. from Harvard

-Began teaching with Erik Erikson and Lawrence Kohlberg at Harvard

-Started a project researching women in psychology and the development of girls

-Wrote the book "In a Different Voice" which introduced a morality of care

-Now a professor at NYU, she is an award winning, teacher, author, and philosopher

-Kohlberg studied males when developing his theory

-Carol interviewed women with moral dilemma of abortion

-Women were reframing the problem from right versus wrong to a realtional problem, making a better choice

-This missing voice was found to be part of the common human experience

-Speaking up modelled with real world examples within the subject matter

-Critical thinking encouraged through inquiry projects

- Model care and empathy for one another through daily interactions

-Priortize relationships and decision making based on the consequences within those realtionships
