Ostriches can't fly but they can run very fast up to 43 mph. Ostriches tend to peck at there young to toughen them up. A ostrich has chicken like legs and a large lemon shaped body with black feathers and a flamingo like head and neck.
Savannas are in Madagascar, Africa, Brazil, South America and Columbia.

Meerkats
Meerkats are small animals with a pointy face. Meerkats have a little shield like thing over their eyes so when they dig no dirt gets in their eyes. Meerkats are also social animals they live in groups called 'mobs' there is usually 20 to 50 meerkats in a mob
DESCRIPTION
This savanna biome is a grass land. The savanna is mainly flat with few hills and some trees. the most common plants are grasses. some types of grasses are short. They may only be a few inches high. Most grasses in the savanna are very tall.

Umbrella thorn acacia tree
This tree looks like a umbrella but the canopy is made out of leaves and the tube part is made out of bark and wood with faint brown colored wood. It also has thorns like pine spikes it grows in rocky grounds and dunes of sand.

Elephant grass can grow up to 10 feet (3 meters tall). Its roots are long which allows it to reach water deep underground. It can get water even when the weather is very dry. Elephant grass is named this because of its size.
