Question:
Has the main character in your literature circle book changed at all since the beginning of the book?
Is our main character on the upswing or a downward spiral?
Who/what affects character development:
- Other characters: friends, family members, antagonists
Who/what affects character development:
Have they changed for the better or worse?
- Events: Sudden change, something valuable is lost, unexpected victories

Positive/Negative Chart
1. Create chart with positive and negative values
2. Place items in chronological order on chart
3. If the item is positive (Paul moves to new town) it goes in the positive side of the chart. If it is negative (Erik bullying Paul) place it in the negative side).
4. Explain on a separate sheet why the item is positive or negative.
5. Write the page number where the item was found
6. You will need at least 7 items listed on your chart when it is finished.
