My "Current" State

I am working towards developing my time manage, budgeting, and social skills. From time to time I tend to let opportunities pass me by. Sometimes I feel I can do everything on my own, with no team or help.

I have a strong interest for producing music. I have been recording Hip-Hop songs since I was 12 years old. I am a active performing Hip-Hop artist.

My name is Vinnie Dewayne, Hip-Hop artist from Portland Oregon. Over the last two years I have released two albums that have brought a lot of attention to the issues that my community faces. As a result of my music’s growing popularity, last summer I performed at over 15 shows in Chicago, New York, and throughout Portland. My music has resonated with inner city youth all over the world(150,000 views on YouTube). Youth are connecting with my music and it’s message, which reminds them to stay positive, motivated and to be a better person through whatever circumstance. I want to continue to develop music that brings hope to places that are hopeless throughout the world. To develop a product that fulfills this vision, I will need a budget to move forward.

To achieve my long-term goal I will have to stay passionate within my field. I have to put myself around intelligent people, mentors, and, peers. Develop more positive leadership traits. Take advantage of job opportunities even if they are not the exact position that reflects of career job. Wake up earlier, and work harder.

My "Desired" state

On time. Organized. Planned out. Once I am in my desired state, it will open the door for others to work with me within a team. People will appreciate my energy because I am putting in effort to sustain positive relationships and collaborations.

I am a democratic leader. My MBTI type is ENTP. This type means that I have a moderate preference of Intuition over sensing. I am a Intuitive leader. I also have a slight preference of Perceiving over Judging. Intuition and Perceiving are my strengths as a leader. These elements help me understand what type of

environments I am in. I quickly grasp on to the different personalities around me. I feel comfortable around many different people. These elements may also serve as a pitfall because I tend to over sense/think things which holds me back from taking immediate action. Sometimes I just want to stop my thoughts from roaming in my head.

The action plan to reach my desired state consists of repetition. I will put in the work to develop new leadership skills by networking, collaborating with others, being coachable, showing up, and putting in my 100% in all tasks. I will need to create budgets for my self that show how much I need to create a full length album, contact booking managers, and gather up a support team to help me make the desired moves that I need to make.

My career goal is to become an established Hip-hop artist, performing, recording albums, and managing other artist. I also want to become a label executive, running my own label. Throughout my career I also want to start up after school programs for at-risk students in Portland, Oregon.

I have a strength to engage a crowd while performing. I have developed that strength overtime by practicing and consistently performing.

I have a strength to analysis situations and learn to grow from them. Naturally I have had strengths playing sports, understanding music, and entertaining. However, overtime I have built effective qualities that sharpen my natural skills.

The type of values that I would want in my work environment would be integrity, trust, loyalty, and optimistic individuals. I'd like to see people working towards goals that they truly believe in. I value giving back to the community and inspiring others. I take time working with high school students, whether it is mentoring or tutoring.

The Business and Entrepreneurship field is extremely competitive and always changing. However, there is great opportunity in this field. Hip-hop artist come and go but I believe if you stand for something within your field then your craft will be timeless. Staying fresh and consistent in any field will give your work longevity. The music industry is on a decline with album sales, and is being over saturated with rappers coming and leaving. On the other hand, I plan to develop a loyal core fan base, stick true to my message and soak in as much of the music industry as possible. Approaching the music industry with this route will open the door to more opportunities such as fashion, beverages, and other forms of media.
