I think the author was trying to explain how bad cyberbullying is and how it affects people. I also think she was trying to tell how it can affect a person's life and even take away a person's life.
- Backlash took place in modern day in the town of Lake Hills in a house where it all went down.

My Opinion
I thought the book was amazing. I couldn't even put it down. I have learned that you shouldn't just put your trust in someone from the Internet just because your friends are friends with them. I give this book 5 stars.
Main Characters
- Laura Kelley- A teenage girl who was bullied and tricked by Bree and Bree's mother. She has blond hair, a cheerleader, and in high school.
- Sydney Kelley- Laura's sister, 8th grade, dragged into the conflict affected her life.
- Bree Connors- The teenage girl that bullied Laura used to be her best friend. She is a high schooler.
- Mary Lou Conners- Bree's Mom and participant of the bullying of Laura, a real estate worker.
- Liam Conners- Bree's brother, an 8h grader, was dragged in the middle of the conflict.
Summary
Backlash was a thrilling book with many conflicts. A girl (Bree) got jealous of Laura causing her and her mom to put this girl through a world of emotional pain, not only affecting her but many other people in both families,their jobs, privacy, and identity.
Conflict
Bree Conners, a teenager from Lake Hills High School, gets jealous when her ex- best friend makes the cheer team and she didn't which made her mad. She has never not made the cheer team. So she decides to set up a fake Facebook account as a boy who Laura falls in love with. Then, Bree drops some mean words online causing Laura to commit suicide which she does survive but afterward it caused a big problem when it comes down to finding who caused it.
