Dermatitis herpetiformis

"I hate bread and pasta"

  • Common symptom
  • Blistering, itchy skin disease
  • Amplified by gluten intolerance (Celiac Disease)

1

Prognosis

Destruction of intestinal villi caused by Celiac Disease.

Gluten free diets improve celiac disease symptoms, help heal intestinal destruction and prevent further damages.

It is possible for patients to live typically, when gluten in removed from diet.

2

PSA!

Recently, people choose to eat a gluten free diet to lose weight but the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease say,

"No current data suggests that the general public should maintain a gluten-free diet for weight loss or better health"

A person can actually miss important nutrients such as iron and calcium when they remove gluten for weight loss without consulting a physician.
