Learning Objective: YWBAT use Google Classroom to complete and submit an assignment.

Essential Question: Why do designers design products for the extremes?

A Documentary about Industrial Design

Directed by Gary Hustwit

(Due by end of class) In Google Classroom, watch the first 8 minutes of the documentary "Objectfied", answer the questions in the Google Doc, and submit your work.

Your assignment is to:

1. Log into your assigned laptop and log into Chrome..

2. Go to Google Classroom (classroom.google.com) and open assignment "00.06_Objectified Documentary Part 1" within our class stream.

3. Read the instructions carefully and answer all questions within, working quietly as you go.

Please note: you will need to check out headphones to hear the video

Basic Laptop Rules:

1. No headphones (unless watching a video).

2. Only use the laptop assigned to you.

3. Carry the laptop by the base (not the screen).

4. Follow the laptop retrieval and return protocols.

Design: Lesson Six

Do Now: From our last class: Describe all the features you can about this product - size, color, the material it's made of and everything else you notice.

Then consider those features and use them to determine the kind of person - their beliefs and their values - who would want this product.

The Basics:

1. One mic

2. Genuine effort

School-wide Rules (classroom and hallway):

  • No cell phones/headphones
  • No hats or hoodies.
  • No food, drink, or gum.
  • No disrespectful language.
  • No fighting (play or otherwise)
  • No throwing objects.

Today’s Agenda:

Objectified Documentary - watch the 1st 8 minutes and answer the reflection questions.

Watch carefully, answering the questions on the worksheet as you watch.
