I was born in 1820. It was a harsh time of change in England. Money and position seemed all that mattered. Charity was a cold and disagreeable word. Religion too often wore a mask of bigotry and cruelty. There was no proper place for the poor or the unfortunate.
I am an orphan. I live with my aunt in law. My cousins torment me about being a charity case. Though I live among the rich, I am treated as if I am lower than the servants.

I have been sent to Lowood, to a charity school for girls. It is cold here. The water for washing was frozen one morning. Dinner is often half a piece of bread. Consumption and typhus caused many girls to die. My best friend Helen died. I had no where to go. I am an orphan. New school overseers took over however and with the improvement of condtions, my grades also improved. I was top of the first class and am now teaching. I hope to become a govenerness soon. I shall put out an ad.

Thornfield was everything I imagined it to be. Miss. Fairfax is kind and Adele is flourishing in her studies. Mr.Rochester is a confusing man, I believe he is hiding some big secret. Anyways, for the past week he has had guests over and ORDERED me to join them every night! I hate it. A beautiful and high class woman named Blanche and her mother have been ripping on governess's all night. No matter what employment I find, I will always be a nightmarish burden and treated poorly. To have a name and money is everything :(. On the plus side, Mr.R almost called me his "love" tonight. Unfortunatly, he will never love me. Blanche has an important name and I am penniless and nameless.

Mr. R almost married me. However he actually did have a secret. I thought I was just hearing another house maid laughing crazily, but nope, it was his WIFE, Bertha. Shes gone crazy and he keeps her in the attic. I ran away from Thornfield and had no money. I was on the verge of death when the River's took me in and helped me recover and get a job teaching. Turns out my uncle John, is their uncle John and were cousins! Poor uncle John died however and left me 20000 pounds. Even after spliting it with my cousins, I'm wealthy. My cousin St. John wants to marry me and take me to thailand. I refused. Now that I am rich, I can retain my autonomy if I marry Mr. R. I will return to Thornfeild.
