His most famous works are the Titanic score, the Avatar score and the Braveheart score. He has won a metric ton of awards for the Titanic score, which was the highest grossing film score of all time- making some 22 million dollars in profit. This was mostly due to the iconic 'My Heart Will Go On.' He also wrote the scores for An American Tale, Aliens, Cocoon, Jumanji, Apollo 13, The Mask of Zorro, The Karate Kid (the new one with Jaden Smith the bad one)
Horner, due to his prolific nature, has worked with a massive range of directors; some famous, some infamous and others completely unknown. However, the most recurring of these is James Cameron. Having worked on a range of scores for the visionary director, the two have a closely aligned productive ideal. However, after 'Aliens', Horner proclaimed that he would never again work with Cameron due the stress and demand on him. However, 11 years later in 1997, Horner and Cameron teamed up again to produce Titanic, which cemented Horner's legendary status as a composer, creating the masterful score for the most grossing movie of all time.
12 years later, the pair returned for the ambitious 'Avatar': which overtook Titanic as the highest grossing film of all time. With Cameron's visionary skills and Horner's time-honed compositional mastery, the two create cinematic masterpieces.

Horner's standard musical style is to use the elements of other composers incorporated into his own unique style- orchestral mastery combined with use of cutting edge electronic sounds and computer-manufactured samples. Another facet of his style is the inclusions of heavily Celtic-influenced sounds and choral stresses. The influence of his choral mastery was most evident in James Cameron's 'Avatar': large sections of the score were entirely vocal, written with ethnic influences and in the fictional native language created for the movie. Horner's scores are hugely influential, and a number of samples from his scores are used as staples in the movie industry, the most famous of which being 'Bishops Countdown' from 'Aliens'- a recurring musical theme in action trailers.
