Exploring Pangloss from Voltaire's Candide

Research Topic

Choices

Is Pangloss's actions motivated by his naivity or his malicousness?

I chose Candide by Voltaire because it is a favorite of mine, as well as a book that I would be able to explore philosophy with in a research project.

Fernando Y. Martins

Conclusion

To conclude, after revisiting the text I must say that Pangloss is not evil in the slightest but I can see how one can easily confuse his motives but the deciding factor would be that his own philosophy resulted in his death.
