The screen turns to black and white as the narritive return to the normal linear way of telling a story. This is how the rest of the film plays out, Black and white that narrative tells the story Expostition to resolution. And Normal colour is Resoultion to Expostion.
Overview- This sequence is conventional of Film Noir as the shots give a feeling of pessimissim and darkness. Also there use of dynamic shadows to add to this feeling.
