Confederates- 350 infantry and 100 Calvary

Walter S, O'Kane lead the Confederates

Able Cook lead the Union army (which was mostly German immigrants)

The Confederates won with a brilliant attack by O'Kane

The Union commander Cook did such a bad job many thought he should have been court martialed

35 Union Soldiers killed and 6 Confederates

This made the battle for Missouri more intense throughout the war

Why Cole Camp?

Saw more casualties then most battles in Missouri

Disheveled Troop for both sides

Troops were inexperienced for both sides

Didn't really have any officer in charged
