A nuclear meltdown was one of the contributing factors of why 18,000 people died/were never found. People got a radiation sickness. The radiation is 20 times higher than it should be, which makes planes unable to fly in that area. Babies shouldn't be given tap water, because high levels of iodine found are twice the level a baby can handle.
Scientists have not discovered a way yet to solve this problem. They are working very hard, because if this problem isn't solved in time, the trash will start to collect on our shores.
18,000 deaths. The tsunami washed entire areas off maps. Thousands of homes were destroyed.
