Mr. Van Daan was stealing the bread, so therefore there was not enough bread for everyone. Mrs. Frank was so furious and so stressed about the outside world, she let her stress get the best of her and she wanted to his family out.

Explanation
Miep and Mr. Kraler are risking their own safety by bringing the families food, supplies, and news about the outside world.

Anne could not have offered her bedroom so Mr. Dussel would have had to sleep on the floor. Anne offered her bed to him. She sacrificed a good bed to a stranger, for him to be comfortable.
Miep brought them a cake to make them feel better, happier. She used all of her sugar rations just for them instead of herself.
