Emotional Bullying

Bullying is any kind of repeated abuse involving an imbalance of power. Emotional is any kind of bullying designed to put someone down, humiliate someone or make someone feel bad.

With up to 13 million kids bullied each year, 8320000 kids will be bullied without reporting it.

Jason is walking through the lunchroom when Gus "accidentally" spills water on Jason's pants. Gus then yells, "Hey, look! Jason wet his pants!" The cafeteria fills up with laughter.

64% of children bullied didn’t even report it.

40% of kids with Autism report being bullied, and 60% with Asperger’s Syndrome report being bullied.

57% of bullying incidents stop when a peer gets involved.

Kids bullied report more physical and emotional symptoms like head and stomach aches, anxiety and depression.

Witnesses of bullying often report feeling unsafe, helpless, and afraid that they will become the next target.

Bullied students often have worse grades, and lose both self-esteem and self-confidence.

63.5% of students the victim of a crime at school were also bullied.
