"Heroes show us that you don't need to be perfect to do what's right.

It's not about living without fear or fighting injustice.

It's not about being powerful but finding your calling.

When you least expect it, they show us it's okay to be vulnerable, no matter how tough you are.

Because even though they're heroes, they're still human."

BIOGRAPHY

WHO IS SUPERMAN?

Superman was born on a planet called Krypton.

His real name is Kal-El and he descends from the house of "El", which is represented by a letter "S". This symbol, in the Kryptonian culture, means "hope".

He was sent to planet Earth by his father Jor-El, after he discovered the imminent destruction of Krypton. When he arrived to Earth he was founded by two farmers of a small town in Kansas, Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent.

The Kents teach Clark (his terrestrial name) he must conceal his otherworldly origins and use his fantastic powers to do good. The boy grew up to become the greatest protector... Superman

Superman is a fictional character who appears in the American comic books published by DC comics.

The character it's considered the first superhero of all time. Actually, his success helped to create the superhero archetype and establish its primacy within the American comic book.

BACKGROUND

Superman was created by the writer Jerry Siegel and the artist Joe Shuster.

At first Siegel wrote a short story, illustrated by his friend Joe Shuster, titled "The Reign of the Superman", which Siegel self-published in his fanzine called "Science Fiction".

Unfortunately Siegel's fanzine did not sell well.

But in 1933, Siegel developed a new character, also named Superman, but now a heroic character.
