Have you ever heard the story of Malcolm x well he was a very important man in black history. Malcolm X was a civil rights activist and he was against racial segregation.

Malcolm X was born on May. 19, 1925. Later when he was twelve his dad got ran over by a car and his mom was sent a mental institute.

Him and his eight siblings were sent to orphanages. In 1946 he was caught stealing and was sent to jail. When he was released from jail he changed his last name to X.

After that he went to school and he told his teacher that he wanted to be a lawyer, his teacher said that was something a black person could not do.

Malcolm x got his name because he thought that ‘’little’’ was a slave name. He also changed his last name because the x means no slavery. Also because it means unknown.

Also because it means unknown. He also changed it when he joined the nation Islam. He also because to reject slave names. He changed also because slaves did not really have names.

Malcolm X was a civil rights activist to help get rights to black people. He used violence to get the way he wanted and he encouraged violence so that black people could get rights.

He made his point by being violent and demanding. He said mean and not nice words at people. He said to use any means necessary.

Malcolm X was shot down on February 21, 1965 by the nation of Islam in New York City, New York. He was a very important man in the world.
