Yellow journalism: much like yellow journalism, propaganda either exaggerates or completely disregards the truth in order to influence peoples thoughts and actions. Both are also usually biased favoring one side over another.
Federal Reserve System: The federal reserve system controls the U.S. money supply. Liberty Bonds is where the Government receives it's loans. Both deal with the Governmental supply of money.
Do you think it was right for the government to withhold information of the war from the people? Why or why not?
If you think not, then what other way do you think the government could have boosted the peoples morale and gotten the American people's support?
Hate Central.
Support Allies.
Germans
Buy liberty bonds.
show how proud
you are to be an
American!
Troops are doing
good in battle! So
any young men
interested in making
America proud feel
free to join.
Central powers kill the
innocent, use children as slaves
and send women to the front lines.
Do you really want those kind of people to win?
If you don't, then support the Allies!
The influence of propaganda seems to be working well; because of the posters, messages, music, and the control of what the American people know about the war, many young men have been encouraged and motivated to serve their country. Not only that but because the public's attitude towards the war is not hateful, the people are continuing to help sustain the war effort through liberty bonds which has now become a symbol of patriotic duty! The use of our propaganda could also mentally demoralize the central powers (mainly Germany) and make them weak. Everything is running smoothly with our funding and we have the support of the people! Aren't Propaganda and Liberty bonds great!

Propaganda: A kind of Biased communication designed to influence peoples thoughts and actions.(Generally Americans were not keen on the idea of war, and German-Americans tended to support Germany{central powers} instead of the Allies. America wanted to convince their citizens to support the war effort. Special boards censored the press to keep causality figures and other discouraging news away from the people. Allied propaganda played up Germany's invasion of Belgium as barbaric. Britain & France told tales of acts against the innocent. These Stories more often than not, were either extremely exaggerated or completely made up. On the central powers side, Germans encouraged people to sing a 'hymn of hate' against the British.)
Liberty Bonds: A government-issued bond sold during World War 1 to raise money for the allied war effort. (BTW :A bond is a kind of loan, usually issued by the government to fund projects or activities. In this particular case the people are loaning to the government so the Gov. can fund the war effort in Europe. The response to the first liberty bond act was less than enthusiastic, so the government launched a huge public awareness campaign, and reissued the liberty bonds late in 1917 ) {Ex: if you gave 100 dollars (face value) and the interest was 10%(coupon) and it last for 3 yrs. (maturity date) for each of those 3 yrs. you would be paid 10% of $100 or 10 dollars each year which adds up to $30 total and at the end of those 3 years you get given back your 100 dollars.}
