HISTORY

FIFA World Cup

For more than a century the sport of Football has captivated the hearts of many since its birth in 1863 in the country of England. It has turned out to be the most played and most watched sport around the globe. Many nations around the world have adopted the sport of football and have made it the national sport of that country. Many individuals around the world have looked towards football for hope.

The FIFA World Cup, is an international association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of FIFA, the sport's global governing body. The month long tournament consists of 32 teams from different nations all qualified to play in a host country chosen by FIFA, it is played every 4 years and has been a major impact on the world as continents have celebrated bringing people together from all around the earth to watch and celebrate the football festivity.

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association is the international governing body of association. FIFA is responsible for the organisation of football's major international tournaments. It was founded in 1904 to oversee international competition among the national associations of Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Membership now comprises 209 national associations. Member countries must each also be members of one of the six regional confederations into which the world is divided: Africa, Asia, Europe, North & Central America and the Caribbean, Oceania and South America.

The Discrimination Free Zone Foundation is a 501 non-profit organization created to end discrimination and raise awareness about discrimination in the workplace, at home, at social gatherings, and everywhere worldwide. It is funded by donations and by the sale of its products, including branded wristbands, shirts, hats, posters and FIFA itself. FIFA recognizes its responsibility to lead the way in abolishing all forms of discrimination in football

The Soccer Wars

Over the years many have wondered if soccer could possibly end a social conflict between rival countries or perhaps even a war. Over the years soccer has created an inner peace within the countries of the world and has brought an end to many conflicts in countries like Nigeria and ivory coast when the nations came together as one when both qualified to the 2010 world cup in South Africa
