Gods Presentations
Opening Question
Objectives for Presentation on the Gods/Monsters
OPTION #1: Based on what you already know, what are the gods’ limitations?
OPTION #2: What situations occur that force gods to get involved in human affairs?
To research information on a particular god/goddess/monster and be critical with the selected sources: how can you tell a good source from a less-than-credible source?
To understand each individual god’s/monster’s importance and role in Greek culture: what purpose/function did my god/monster serve in Greek culture? Why did they hold this god/monster as an important/feared figure?
To read and process how one story that directly involves your god/goddess allows us to understand the maxims of Greek society: What story (one that has not already been told) allow us to understand this god/monster and the Greek way of life?
To educate and share the information to the class on your particular god/goddess/monster, being selective and limited in the presented information: How do I choose which information to include and which information to leave out? How will I know when I have included "just enough" information to hold my audience's attention? How should I begin and end my presentation?
