These are pictures of what the globe may have looked like. We can only guess becaus ethe actual globe theatre burnt down in June 1613 and rebuilt but closed and torn down in 1642.

The actual Globe may remain a ghost forever!?

This is the 'Shakespears Globe' that was built in 1997 to the general idea of what the Globe may have looked like.

Playwrights/Actors of the Renaissance

Theatre during the Reniassance was one of the most growing points of theatre in history. From the new theatres and new acting styles to the great works of Shakespeare the Renaissance era gave us a new significance to life and 'illusion greater than life itself" that we call THEATRE!

One of the most famous playwrights of the renaissance (more like of all time) was William Shakespeare.

He wrote many of the peices we still see today such as Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and Hamlet.

Shakespeare on stage!

Before shakespeare was ever wrote plays, poems, sonnets, and ect. he was one of the most talented actors of his time and was periodically summoned to perform for the Queen.

Actors

Actors of the renaissance had to be experts in literature.

Being an actor meant a low ranking in society and actors were paid very poorly. But soon began to gain more respect, and recognition.
