Experimental Procedure

Experimental Group

Control Group

Condition the Experimental group receives:

Either the small or the large lips

Conditions received by the control group:

This group kisses people only with middle sized lips.

1. Finley and Brian will go find cute moms and inform them about our research.

2. The moms who consent to the experiment will be be brought to our kissing booth and be told the #1 rule to not use tongue

3. The triplets will be hidden behind a curtain behind the booth

4. The participant moms will then role a die. A 1 or 4 will result in a kiss with the triplet with the smallest lips, a 2 or 5 will get a kiss with the middle sized lips, and a 3 or 6 will get a kiss with the largest lips.

5. The triplet will then come out and kiss the cute mom

6. The triplet then will come behind the curtain again, and Lucy will come out and give the mom a survey to rank to the kiss from 1-3, 3 being the best

7. Repeat the process until each triplet kisses 20 times

8.Researchers will average satisfaction rating of the target population including both the control and experimental group

9. Researchers will then conclude data and debrief the participants.

Setting: A kissing booth at a football game

Target Population: Cute Moms

Method of Random Selection: It is a use of convenience location. Finley and Brian will pick cute moms to be participants because they're good at that ;)

Method of Random Assignment for Independent Measures:

When the participants enter the kissing booth, a die is rolled. Those who role a one or four go to the smaller lips, the two and five is the control group and kisses the medium sized lips and the three and six is the other experimental group that kisses the large lips.

Method: Single Blind

Operational Definitions of Each Variable

Independent: The volume of the lips will be measured by water displacement

Dependent: The kiss will be ranked on a scale of 1 - 3

Theory about findings:

Those who have big lips have shown to be better kissers.

Ethical Considerations:

Participants risks contracting any illness that the kisser has and vice versa. Someone might fall in love and stalk the kisser. Someone might be hurt emotionally if the kiss is mistaken for a sign of affection and not an experiment.

Deception of what the booth kisser looks like before entering the study.

Controlling Confounding Variables:

We rank the kiss by 1(okay), 2(good), 3(great), so that a horny participant does not unnaturally rank the kiss higher based on general lusting for kisses. Rule saying that participant can't use tongue ;). Triplets of male gender will control the variable of gender. Risk/benefit ratio for deception
