So, to sum up there were a LOT of laws in ancient China. The laws got passed down from emperor to emperor, and with time they got changed a little bit. Basically, in ancient times. China was unbelievable different to our country in modern times and definitely a lot stricter.

Punishments...

- Beating with a bamboo stick was considered to be a mild punishment. Robbery was punished by death.

- The most shameful of all punishments in Ancient China was be-heading. Any person found guilty of murder and some other very bad crimes could expect this punishment. In China, the head was considered to be the noblest part of the body, so it was shameful to have it cut off. Crimes against the emperor brought the accused no mercy. They were not allowed any support from their families and all their possessions were taken away from them and were tortured cruelly and executed the same day. (This does relate to the modern world because we have government to tell us about the rules.)

- Another form of punishments of crime is that you get cut in this particular order eyebrows would be cut off first and then then cut off the shoulders, breasts and then arms and legs, They always leave the heart till last.

- If you had more than one child, you were taxed by the government.

Why you Had to Obey the Laws:

Laws of Ancient China...

You had to obey the laws of ancient China because they were there to stop people from being bad or doing and getting away with things that were bad or unnecessary. Even though some of the laws were a bit brutal or extreme, if they weren't there the country would be out of control, just like any other laws of any other country.
