Mark Antony VS. Brutus
"I honour him: but, as he was ambitious, I
slew him."
"If then that friend demand
why Brutus rose against Caesar, this is my answer:
--Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more."
Roman politician, murderer of Gaius Julius Caesar and one of the last defenders of the republic. He was Caesar's bestfriend at the time, and betrayed him.
Brutus did it for rome, for himself because he believed that Rome would go to shambles if Caesar were to be king. Brutus called caesar an "ambitious" man, meaning he only thought of himself.
Between 52 and 50 B.C., Mark Antony was assigned as a staff officer to Julius Caesar in Gaul.
"Et tu, Brute! Then fall, Caesar!."
Antony constantly stated that Brutus was 'Honorable.' He also stated all the good that Caesar had done for rome, and how he refused the crown three different times. Antony's speech was more on the persuasive, sarcastic and emotional side. Antony used multiple tactics, devices and even sympathy to his advantage to lure in the crowd.
The last thing Caesar saw was his bestfriend brutus literally stabbing him in the back with his dagger.
It's said that Caesar was stabbed 23 times.
Married three different times, but stayed with Calphurnia from 59 B.C-44B.C.
Caesar refused the crown to Rome three different times, and always walked around and answered the townespeoples question. He even listened to the fortune tellers.
"Here is the will, and under Caesar's seal.
To every Roman citizen he gives,
To every several man, seventy-five drachmas."

In my very personal opinion, I believe that Marc Antony has the must more reasonable funeral speech. Marc Antony was more on the emotional side, and asking the townspeople why they would choose to agree with Brutus, when Caesar had never actually done anything to make them think otherwise--Caesar was noble.
Antony used tactics, devices, and sympathy to his greatest advantage. He knew that he had to think through and chose his words wisely. He used repetition to throw off the townspeople, causing them to turn on Brutus. Antony told the townspeople that Caesar had a will.
