During the time of the Silk roads, Jade had the same value of gold.
Jade came from the Mountains of Tarim Basin, located in China. The trade was then carried along the Silk Roads toward the west. Rome, for example traded with other nations for precious stones like Jade.
Spices such as cinnamon, cassia, cardamon, ginger were sold along the silk road.

The ancient tea route was a trade link from Yunnan, where tea first originated. It was first sent to Tibet and then on to the western part of the world.
Yunnan was one of the first tea producing regions.
Before the Silk road was given it's current title, it was referred to as the tea horse road.
The Tea was first used as food then over time people used it for medicinal brews. In addition, it became traditional to drink Tea.
