Teachers' day

On 18 September 2015 we celebrated our school's

93-rd birthday. We all hugged the schoolhouse and every class made a cake.

On 2 October we celebrated teachers' day in our school. On this day students always give lessons.

On 28 September we had so-called christening of foxes, where year 12 students did some discusting but funny things with year 10 students who are the newcomers in our gymnasium part.

Music Day

Hanna Miina, Kirke, and, a teacher Silja were ready to enjoy the day.

Every September we have a competition of autumn compositions, where students from 1st-4th classes make funny, cool, and beautiful things out of vegetables and fruits.

The best ideas receive awards.

Students played the violin during the lunch break.

In October we celebrated the music day, then our teachers and children performed in the canteen during the lunch break.

Teachers sang while students were having lunch.

We have traditional sport days in autumn and spring. Sometimes we have funny competitions, like

a boot-throwing, an egg run, and a sackrun. At the beginning of the days we have a little warming up dance.

On 30 October we celebrated Halloween. Students and teachers dressed up as monsters and witches.

Career day

Mother tongue day in March

Every winter there is a career week in our school with lots of guests who introduce their jobs. Students can also participate in interesting workshops.

Students from 9th and 10th grade are imitating famous singers and bands.

On the day of our mother tongue, Andrus Kivirähk, the famous Estonian writer, visited Vändra Gymnasium and students enjoyed his witty speech and humorous attitude to the world.

Every spring 12th class has "a real wedding". There is a bride, a groom, guests etc.

The 11th graders' duty is to steal the bride. It is an old

tradition in our school.

Attacking the "police"

In April our students had an opportunity to get acquainted with police work: give their fingerprints, try out the lie dedector, wear handcuffs etc. Every month many people and museums visit our school, but we liked this visit the most.

Playbox is our annual event, where students can imitate famous singers or bands.

On 27 November we had it again. This time Playbox was themed as "A Farmer Wants a Wife."

At the end of May, when the 9th grade is going to study for their exams, they have their last day at school when they can feel, behave, and look like the 1st graders for one day. Funny end of childhood!

On 1 April there was an annual film festival in our school. Every class was asked to make a short film.

Every year on the second Sunday of May we have a little concert for mothers.

On 24 February Estonians celebrate Estonian Independence Day. We had a special ceremony and our school was decorated in our flag colours (blue, black, and white).

On 12 February we celebrated Valentine's Day in

our school.
