Selective Enrollment
- To be eligible to apply you must be in the 24th percentile in reading and be in the 24th percentile in math (students with IEPs, you combine your scores)
- Must take ONE test. All the schools use your score.
- You get up to 300 points for your NWEA Scores
- You get up to 300 points for your grades
- You can get up to 300 points on the selective enrollment test.
Students rank 6 schools and only receive ONE acceptance or rejection.
Magnet
- Magnet schools require a minimum NWEA score of 24th percentile in reading and a 24th percentile in math. (students with IEPs, you combine your scores)
- These schools do not require a certain grade point average.
- There is 2 Magnet School within a 35-40 minute commute from Dewey
- Selective Enrollment
- Magnet
- International Baccalaureate
- College and Career Technology Education
- Military
IB- International Baccalaureate
IB requires- 24th percentile ranking in reading and in math AND a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 (students with IEPs, you combine your scores)
CTE
- These programs do not have testing or grade requirements.
- Anyone can apply to these schools.
- Students can only apply to 5 CTE programs in the city.
- Students may apply to as many charter schools as they would like. Some applications require an essay.
- Examples of CTE Programs: Agriculture, Broadcast Technology and Digital Media, Business and Finance, Construction & Architecture, Culinary & Hospitality, Health Science, Human Services, Information Technology, Law and Public Safety,
Military Academies
- Military academies require a minimum combined score in reading and math equaling 48.
- (ex. Reading- 21 and Math- 27 = 48 total)
- These schools do not require a certain grade point average.
- There is 2 Magnet School within a 35-40 minute commute from Dewey
