New France's wealth increased because of all these developments. Unfortunately Talon's term as intendant ended in 1672. New Frances society is what historians like to call a hierarchical society. In a hierarchy there are ranks that give you power or give you responsibilities. For example the education system is a hierarchy. The minister is at the top, then the school board, superintendents, principles, teachers then students. In our school there is only one hierarchy but in New France there were two hierarchy's. The church and the civil. The Civil hierarchy holds the king, viceroy and Minister of the Navy in the top ranks. Here is a chart of the ranks.
