Susie's family is a family again. They all eventually got over her death by trying to deal with it in several different ways, but they will never forget Susie. Susie has her grandfather in heaven and decides to move on with her eternity. Susie ended the novel by saying "I wish you all a long and happy life." (pg 328)
The initial incident in the novel is when Mr. Harvey, the Salmon's neighbor, lures Susie into his underground den, where he rapes and kills her.
Susie's Father is one of the main characters in the novel because he tries to solve Susie's death even after everyone has given up his name is Jack. Susie's sister is also a big part in helping solve the murder, her name is Lindsey. Susie's mother is Abigail, her brother is Buckley and the dog is Holiday. Other characters who play a big part are: Susie's friends from school Ray, and Ruth, and there was Susie's grandmother who helped keep the family together.
Susie Salmon was a 14 year old girl in a 1970's town in Pennsylvania when she was killed. She lived in a town home with her parents, her sister, her brother and her dog. Throughout the novel, Susie's family had to try to cope with her death and through thick and thin they managed to stay together. Another major conflict in the novel is who killed Susie.
