For one team to score more points than the other by causing the opposing team to commit a fault, similar to the popular sports of Tennis and Volleyball. The main difference is that only the feet, head, and chest can make contact with the ball
Ball
- Rattan ball
- Consists of 12 holes and 20 intersections
- Made of synthetic rubberized plastic
Net
- stretched on the center of the court
- Height: men (1.5 m) women (1.42 m)

Similar as a doubles badminton court

- Flat shoes to allow flexibility.

The first team to reach 21 points wins. If there is a tie, there is a tie-breaker held until one team has a 2-point lead, or until a score of 25 is reached.
- Sepak Takraw is a Southeast Asian sport which can also be described as "kick volleyball".
- This sport is popular in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, India, Philippines, Brunei, USA, and Pakistan
Positions
Each team consists of 3 players
- Tekong (server): serves the ball over the net.
- Killer (Striker): execute ball and block opponent’s shot
- Feeder or setter: sets the ball up and facilitates the attacks
Cultural and social aspect
History
- Seen as kick ball in the U.S
-The sport preserves and promotes the Asian culture.
- USA Takraw Association (USAST) was established in Califonia in 1996.
- The sport of Sepak Takaw originated in Malaysia in the 15th century, mostly played by the royal upper class. The game spread to Indonesia in the following century and was called "Sepak Raga", By the 20th century, the sport was spread all across Southeast Asia, and was developed into a fully structured sport with rules and regulations.
- The very first Sepak competition was hosted at a swim club, in the Malaysian state of Penang, on May 16, 1945. This popularized the sport into being played in almost every school across Southeast Asia
Serving Rules In Sepak Takraw
- The server stands at the back of the court.
- The feeder and killer stand on the quater circles closer to the net.
- Feeder or killer tosses the ball to the server, who serves the ball over the net while keeping their one non-serving foot inside the circle.
- Players cannot move freely until the ball is served.
