The European Relief

Coasts

The coast are very irregular. The are many peninsulas , gulfs and islands .

There are important Peninsulas like:

The Iberian Peninsula , The Italian and the Scandinavian.

Important gulfs include the:

The Botnia and the Biscay gulf.

Important Islands include:

- In the Atlantic Ocean:

Iceland , The British Isles , The Azores , The Madeira Islands and the Canary Islands.

- In the Mediterranean Sea:

The Balearic Islands , Corsica , Sardinia , Sicily , Malta , Crete and Cyprus.

RIVERS

The European Rivers flow into different oceans and seas :

the Pechora and the Northern Dvina flow into the Artic Ocean.

The Elba ,Rhine ,Seine and Loire flow into the Atlantic Ocean.

The Ebro , Tiber and Po flow into the Mediterranean Sea.

The Don and Danube flow into the Black Sea.

The Volga is the longest river of Europe and flows into the Caspian Sea.

THE HYDROGRAPHY AND CLIMATES OF EUROPE

CLIMATES

There are different climates in Europe :

The Atlantic Climate is mild all year and colder in winter. (On the west coast of Europe)

The Continental Climate of Europe is very cold in winter and hot in summer.

The Mediterranean Climate is hot in summer and mild in winter. (In the southern coasts of Europe)

The Subtropical Climate is warm all year, because the islands are closer to the equator.

The Polar Climate is cold in winter and in summer, because it is located near the Arctic.

The Mountain Climate is very cold in winter and mild in summer, because of their elivations.

MOUNTAINS AND PLAINS

There are various mountanious regions:

In the North:

The Grampian Mountains , the Scandinavian

Mountains and The Urals .

In the South:

The Pirineos, The Alps , The Apennines and the Caucasian Mountains.

The Highest Mountain in Europe is the Mount Elbrus in the Caucasian Mountains .It´s 5642 m high.

The centre of Europe is called Great European Plain. It streches from France To the Urals
