I would rate this book a 7 on the 1 to 10 scale.
This book was very readable, but not really memorable. I would recommend this book though.

Miles Newell is a normal 16 year old. However, he is caught in a time of disaster. Volcanoes have erupted, and ash has filled the sky all across the United States. Miles knows that his family must move to their isolated cabin if they want to stay alive. People are becoming violent, looting and killing in order to survive. His family realizes on the adventure that its not only city folk who have been affected.
Not as many dangerous things happened, as I expected them to for a world in such a terrible state.
Miles tossed Mr. Kruz's ashes into the lake at their cabin.
This passage really concludes everything and ties it all in. If it weren't for Mr. Kruz, Miles family wouldn't have made it to their cabin. The action of dumping his ashes into the lake reveals the emotional attachment the author created between the reader and Miles.
The blurb caught my interest. I've also heard positive things about the author, Will Weaver.
