Benedict Arnolds Life in Fighting

January 1, 1781

July 25, 1776

Benedict Arnold leads a British raid up a river in Virginia.

Benedict Arnold is appointed to Naval Commander. Three months later, the new naval commander, Arnold, commands ships to escape the British fleet.

June 14, 1801

April 19, 1775

Benedict Arnold dies at age of 60. He died of asthma, throbbing in his shot leg, gout in both legs, and gradual heart failure.

The American Revolutionary War begins. Arnold joins the war soon after it begins.

September 19, 1777

After healing, Arnold comes back to fight when the Battle of Saratoga starts. His fellow commander Hoatio Gates helped and sometimes fought with Benedict Arnold.

October 7, 1777

Arnold is shot in the leg for the second time during the Battle of Saratoga.

May 18, 1775

Arnold began the Quebec invasion. He moved his family to Quebec during the invasion.

May 6, 1776

Injured Benedict Arnold gives up his post as general to John Thomas. Meanwhile, Arnold goes to Montreal to recover.

December 31, 1775

The battle of Quebec starts, and Arnold gets shot in the leg.

September 19, 1780

Benedict Arnold meets John Andre, a British officer, at nighttime. John comes in a boat to meet Arnold and Benedict begins to betray his country.

April 30, 1778

Arnold is finally able to walk after being shot in the same place as before. He had to lay in a hospital bed for five months.

October 2, 1780

British general, John Andre is hanged by the Patriots for spying.
