Gods Presentations

Mythology/2015

Thursday's Assessment

Task #1: I will ask you to retell one story from the gods that reflect the maxims: "Know Thyself" and "Nothing in Excess." You will have to define each of these. I will then ask you to EXPLAIN how this myth fits with these maxims.

Task #2: I will have you categorize the gods and explain the justification of your choices. They should represent a higher-order thinking (beyond gender) and explain why you think the gods were arranged this way.

Task #3: There is a clear distinction between gods that are liked and not liked, and those that are powerful and not-so-powerful. I will have you create a list of the gods that were liked/not liked and powerful/not-so-powerful. You will have to explain what this says about the Greek culture.

Task #4: A surprise. CLUE: It's about monsters.

Learning Objectives

• To educate the class on your particular god/goddess.
