Mussolini was at the peak of his

power. Italy invades Ethiopia and

was defiant towards the condemnation from the League of Nations.

British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain addressing the British House of Commons ~ "I can well understand the reasons why the Czech Government have felt unable to accept the terms which have been put before them in the German memorandum. Yet i believe after my talks with Herr Hitler that, if only time were allowed, it ought to be possible for the arrangements for transferring the territory the Czech Government has agreed to give to Germany to be settled by agreement under conditions which would assure fair treatment to the population concerned..."

Shortly after the first World War Japan was able to take control of many of Germany's Asian islands and land claims for their own.

Hitler felt this land was wrongfully stript from Germany and this region contained 3.5 million German's living in for land.

On March 12, 1938, German troops marched into Austria. Hitler announced his Anschluss

At this time Germany was shut out from

all foreign markets in trading and buisness. This resulted in the high inflation of the German Mark

A new government came into power, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kaku Mori, who had strong ties with ultranationalist secret societies. He urged interventionist policies in Manchuria and other parts of China.

Hitler forced through the Enabling Act which allowed the Nazi Party to pass any laws without the Reichstag's approval. He used this to get rid of political opponents.

Nazi Soviet Non-Aggression Pact

Idea of Lebensraum

Starting with the take over of the Sudetenland Hitler then proceeded to take over the rest of the Czech country and he remained in control of it till the end of WWII (1945)

Representatives from Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union met and signed the Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact, which guaranteed that the two countries would not attack each other. By signing this pact, Germany had protected itself from having to fight a two-front war.The Soviet Union was awarded land, including parts of Poland and the Baltic States. The pact was broken when Nazi Germany attacked the Soviet Union less than two years later.

Bibliography

Between 1921 and 1925 Adolf Hitler developed the belief that Germany required Lebensraum ('living space') in order to survive. The conviction that this living space could be gained only in the east, and specifically from Russia, formed the core of this idea, and shaped his policy after his take-over of power in Germany.

Japan's Ultranationalism

Invasion of Poland

End of Reparation Payments

The Munich Pact

USA Foreign Policy

Japan's Ultranationalism

Italy's Ultranationalism

Hitler had just came into power in Germany and he from then on refused to pay the reparation payments

German forces invaded Poland from the north, south, and west. As the Germans advanced, Polish forces withdrew from their forward bases of operation close to the Polish–German border to more established lines of defence to the east.

Japan invades the rest of China and even though the Emperor was thought to have the power much of the real power lied in the hands of the military,

the USA very much became isolationists and payed attention to their own economy and well being

The four countries of Germany, Italy, France, and Great Britain composed and signed the Munich Pact in Munich. The forming of the pact between these four countries served as appeasement purposes, securing Great Britain’s and France’s agreement to Adolf Hitler’s Demands.Hitlers demand for the German speaking Sudetanland of Czechoslovakia to Germany.

Japan takes over Manchuria so they can take over the coal mines and for more land for their over population

Mussolini planned a fascist

uprising to overthrow the

government ,but it never

happened. As a result the

Prime Minister and his government resigned because of the threat. The King then asked Mussolini to form a Government shortly after.

Germany's Rearmament

Hitler destroyed the League of Nations Disarmament Conference by demanding equality of arms with France and Britain – this broke the Treaty because it had set up the League with the stated aim of achieving disarmament. At first, Hitler broke the Treaty’s terms by building up his army in secret, drilling volunteers with spades instead of rifles.
