Phase 2:
the future
These first sketchbooks will form
the start of our collection and
these students will become ambassadors for the future of the project. They will work with more participants from other grade levels and extending out to other school community members in third term and help to promote the idea to the broader community.
phase 1
There is room to grow and develop the “project “ for example setting special themes or doing loan/exchanges with other schools and community groups , sending the books on an interschool “loan tour” providing opportunities to extend student learning through feedback and dialogue.
The fruit !
who are
the "artists"
the idea.
Anybody of any age or artistic ability that would like to be a part of this project and become a part of the visual culture and heritage of this town through a shared passion for the arts and an appreciation for the value of learning in the arts. THIS COULD INCLUDE: current students, past students, teachers, support staff, school leaders, parents, carers, aunts uncles grandparents friends all community members and special guests
The seed of the idea for a Daylesford Primary School community“sketchbook project” is to build a “library” of “sketchbooks” created by members of the whole Daylesford Primary School community in its broadest sense. A collection of visual inspiration that is housed permanently at Daylesford Primary School for the use of current and future generations of Daylesford students.
to participate.....
the sketchbooks
To be a part of the project participants can contact the school and from there purchase a special A5 sized sketchbook. Participants will fill the blank with drawings, paintings collages, writing, ideas...or any kind of inspiration! They will then return the sketchbook to the school full, to be catalogued and it will then become part of our school library’s "special collection.''
The collection of sketchbooks will be cataloged and housed in the Artroom of Daylesford Primary school and be available to students and the community to access and browse for inpsiration. The library of sketchbooks will be a rich learning resource for the whole school community and will remain a growing part of the rich visual art history and culture of the town and of the school.
