Waterloo is a town south of Brussels, in Belgium. One of the most important battle took place there in 1815. French army under command of Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated by British and Prussian army. 4 days later Napoleon abdicated.

The Lion on an artificial hill is overlooking the battlefield on the memory of this battle.
