Intro

What can be as short as 8 inches, eats meat, insects, rodents, and reptiles, and has big ears? The world's smallest Fennec fox is measured up to 5 inches , not including their big ears. Not only are fennecs small, they prefer very warm weather. While the fennec fox is busy being the worlds smallest fox, it has other traits that make it similar to other animals. Did you know a Fennec fox gives live birth?

Care of young

Did you know that the Fennec fox can have up to 4-6 kits at a time? The kit is considered fully grown at 20 months old. The fennec fox gives live birth. The fennec fox carries its kits, on average, for 7 weeks and 1 day until the kit is born. The kit eats mealworms, crickets, silkworms, and other insects.

Fennec foxes have very large ears and a small nose.

Fennecs have thick hair to protect themselves from the hot sun. Their coats are long, soft, and with range in color from a light red, to greyish white, to almost white. Their undersides are pure white, and their tails are bushy with black tips. Fennecs are usually 8 inches tall and weigh 1.5-3.5 lbs.

Fennecs live in the Sahara Desert in the top of Africa. They live in range of the Sinai and Arabian peninsulas. The Fennec fox live in a very hot climate. You can also find the Fennec fox in Libya. You can MAINLY find Fennecs in Algeria, because the Sahara Desert is there

The Fennec fox eats meat, insects, rodents, and reptiles.The fennec fox mainly feeds on raw meat. They get their meat from birds, rabbits, and mice! If a few of their food population dies down the fennec would probably eat eggs or insects. The fennec fox chews its food in its mouth with its teeth.
