Reflection 2

Reflection 1

A present workplace that is like the industrial revolution would be terrible. With the minimum wage removed, the companies could pay their workers what ever thy want. They would not have to spend a portion of their profit on safety features. This would mean more money for the owners and that is what they are about. The media would be all over a workplace like that, forcing a bad marketing campaign for the company, that is if people did not care about the safety of others as much as they do. The owner of the company would not care about their employees, where many modern day companies do. Just overall the workplace would be terrible for the employees and great for the owners in money and health concerns.

My belief is that the factory workers were treated to poorly in that time period. The factory owners did not care about anything except the profit. They did not wan to spend any time on the safety features on the machines. The Owners did not care about the workers pay either. They paid them close to nothing (comparing to minimum wage). The factory workers wanted to have these jobs because they would be making more than carrying out the family farm. The downside, hundreds, even thousands want these jobs. When one worker does not want to work the long hours, or if a worker gets hurt while operating they would be fired and the next person in line for the job would be hired.

The End

By Andrew Chase

Position of the Factory Workers

The factory workers were the people dieing and receiving minimum wage to produce products and make the owners rich. Utopian Socialism, a reform the people like Robert Owen used as a response where the government takes control of the conditions of the factory workers.

Position of the Factory Owners

Social Darwinism created by Charles Darwin, is like Natural selection (Survival of the Fittest) where the strong companies kill off the weak companies. Capitalism is where the owners don't care about anything except making a profit, They don't care about the workers or the other companies, they just want to get rich.
