Orange with white piping. Orange was selected in 1872 as the Signal Corps branch color. In 1902, the white piping was added to conform to the custom that prevailed of having piping of a different color for all branches except the line branches
21 June 1860: Signal Corps Birthday. Albert James Myer came up with the idea of separate, trained professional military signal service.
1867: Electric telegraph became a Signal Corps responsability
1907: Aeronautical Division established
World War I: Signal Corps worked closely with provate industry to perfect radio tubes
1937: First Army radar is patented
1930's: Signal Corps' tactical FM radio was developed
Korea: VHF radio became "backbone" of tactical communication during the conflict
Vietnam War: Deployed use of tropospheric-scatter radio links
