Point Source

Point source is a pollution coming from a small area, such as a landfill leak, a factory, or a mill pumping waste water into a river. It would be easy to identify because the material can be traced to the source.

Diet

Habitat

The Amazon River Dolphin can be found in the Amazon River System and the Orinoco River System which flow through the South America through most of Brazil, Bolivia , Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana, and Peru.

Like all dolphins they all eat fish. There are over 50 species of small fresh water fish that are on its menu, and it often hunts for them by poking its long, slightly curved beak among the branches of the sunken trees that litter the river bottoms.

BRAZIL

90% of wetland are some areas in BC have lost to industrial and urban areas. The vegetation acts like a filter by filtering pollutants from the water. The thick vegetation helps keeping shorelines from falling into the water.

WETLAND

Lakes and Ponds

Amazon River Dolphin

  • A pond is usually small enough to support plants that are rooted. A tone of plants grow all the way across the pond. The water temperature is mostly even with the top and bottom and changes with air temperature.
  • A lake is much bigger than a pond, and will not support rooted plants, but near the shore it can. lakes with out photosynthesis, oxygen drops which might kill animals or plants, called "winter kill"

The Amazon River Dolphin known as the pink dolphin is found throughout the Amazon and Orinoco. It lives in low land rivers that are with extensive floodplain.

The Amazon river Dolphin lives in a fresh. They eat crab, catfish, and other small fish that live in the river.

Rivers and Streams

Rivers and streams flow in to estuaries, its a free open sea where many animals live. Estuaries are partially enclosed bodies of water where freshwater (water without salt) meets salty ocean water.

The oil spills from cars stain the pavement and when the rain comes down washes all the oil into the drain or sewage which leads to the ocean, Just 1 L of oil can pollute 1 million liters of water.

Rivers are always in different shapes and sizes, but have a lot in common. all rivers/ streams always start from a high point [mountain], water will flow down into rivers or streams. streams may eventually join together at make a large stream.
