Iterative Development

Problem Brainstorm:With your table, brainstorm five problems that go along with washing your hands in public restrooms.

Drying Your Hands in a Public Bathroom

We talked about audience and its role in the creation of new designs. What do you think guides the creation of these different systems for drying hands?

Design can come about as a way to improve upon an existing system. The audience is still there, and style matters, but for public health products, another concern is: "Is this the healthiest way to do something?"

Each one of these designs are iterations. They seek to improve upon the system that came before.

Laptop Protocol

Retrieving Laptops:

1. One column at a time will be called.

2. Each student picks up their laptop - no picking up laptops for other.

3. Carry your laptop with two hands.

Returning Laptops:

4. The class will be given a 2 minute warning to save work and power down the laptop.

5. Power down your laptop completely.

6. When your column is called, calmly and quietly return your laptop to the cart.

7. Make sure that your laptop goes back to the appropriate bay.

8. Also ensure that it is plugged in.

9. Take care of the equipment. Failure to retrieve and return your laptop as described above will result in 5% deduction for the assignment.
