China's oppressive government keeps all "undesirables" in check, arresting all who speak out against Chinese traditonal politcs.

Chen Wei has been arrested a multitude of times for speaking out

His trials are unfair and harsh

His most recent arrest put him in jail for 9 years

Chen Wei is a Chinese Human Rights activist fighting for a multi-party system in China and Freedom of speech.

As the Chinese government is slow to openly release factual information, little is actually known about Chen Wei and other activists within China

Music

Jimi Hendrix 'Freedom"- Chen Wei wrote and published essays online, relating to the topic of freedom of speech. The lyrics "Freedom, so I can give. Freedom, is what I need." represent Wei's struggle to free the Chinese people.

Jason Mraz- 'The Freedom Song"- This song is about being free and happy with "blue skies" ahead, which was the ultimate goal of Chen- freedom for his people in the future.

Bruce Cockburn "Call it Democracy"- Chen Wei is a human rights activist who fought for democracy in China, and this song is all about democracy.

Traditional Chinese Song (no name or artist available)- This song is very cuntural and traditional Chinese instruments are used.

The speckled colors represent the people against the Chinese government's one party system. The swirls on the outside are supposed to be barbed wire "it is hard to get in" and on the inside looing out the cracks in society show.

The plates variation of color gives meaning to the fight for a multi-party system in China, the sharp lines that make of the shapes of the symbols stand for democracy and action. The large red color is to show the power of the Chinese government.
