What is a tsunami?

Wave

A tsunami is a wave of death and destruction. Before tsunami you can see a very big wave coming to the shore to greet you. It will most likely sound like a freight train passing through your head. It is a very scary form of weather. It is very big. It’s a horrible way to start the day. Tsunamis are a wall of painful deaths.

Places they occur

. Japan a major tsunami in 2011

. Asia had a tsunami in 2004

. Alaska had a lot in 1946, 1957, 1958, 1964, 1965 and more

. U.S and Canada in 1812,1873, 1927, 1930, 1946, 1949

If you see a tsunami coming go to high ground. It is almost impossible to outrun. It is huge and powerful and dangerous.

You can tell a tsunami is coming by, first the tide will recede more than usual, second you should most likely hear a roaring in your ears. Then you will probably see it, if so, you should go to high ground. Some places in which tsunamis occur most frequently are Alaska and Japan.
