What is Canada's political system?

3 levels of Canadian political system

Senate

Senators are picked by the Prime Minister. They come from all across Canada so the Prime Minister can see a large variety of point of views.

The senate reviews laws that are propsed by the House of Commons.

The Prime Minister

The Prime Minister chooses MP's as ministers in the Cabinet, they specialize in certain subjects such as immigration, agriculture, and justice.

House of Commons

The House of Commons makes Canada's laws, they are elected by Canadian citizens and belong to certain parties.

The party leader with the most seats in the House of Commons becomes Prime Minister which can either be a minority or a majority.

Head of State

Govenor General is the Head of State whom represents the Queen of England.

The three branches of the goverment

Federal

Provincial or Terratorial

Municipal
